The Borough of Ridgefield is a community of approximately 11,000 residents located in Bergen County, New Jersey. The borough has a size of approximately 2.6 square miles and is located in the southeastern part of the county. Ridgefield has a rich and interesting history, a strong school system and is in close proximity to both New York City and numerous major roadways that take residents to the rest of New Jersey, New York State and beyond. The land in Ridgefield is comprised of hills and valleys and the borough is unofficially divided into three sections, which are known as Ridgefield, Morsemere and Ridgefield Heights. Morsemere was named by a real estate development company in honor of the inventor of the Morse Code, Samuel F.B. Morse, who owned land in Ridgefield in the 1800’s.

The Ridgefield School District serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten attend Shaler Academy, first graders attend Bergen Boulevard, and grades two through eight attend the Slocum-Skewes School. High school students attend Ridgefield Memorial High School.
