Hillsdale is a community located in Bergen County and has a population of over 10,000 residents. It is a quiet residential suburb of single-family homes located between the New York State border and Interstate 80, just a few miles from the Garden State Parkway.
Hillsdale is approximately a 45-minute drive to New York City, and New Jersey Transit trains are available from the station located in the center of town. Daily bus service to Manhattan is also available from several locations in the Hillsdale area.

The center of Hillsdale is located at the junction of Hillsdale Avenue, which runs east west, and Broadway, which runs north south. Walgreen’s, Blockbuster, Kings Supermarket and Subway are a few of the franchises that can be found here. There are several independent delicatessens, restaurants and stores located in this district, as well. Additional shopping and services are located just a short drive south on the Garden State Parkway in Paramus, New Jersey.

The Hillsdale Public Schools system serves all students in kindergarten through eighth grade. In addition to Hillsdale Public Schools, St. John's Academy, a private Catholic school serves children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, is located in Hillsdale.
High school students attend Pascack Valley High School, which serves students from Hillsdale as well as from neighboring River Vale as part of the Pascack Valley Regional High School District.
