Lyndhurst is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, with a population of approximately 19,400 people as of the 2000 Census. The township has an area of nearly five square miles and is conveniently located near the New Jersey Meadowlands. The town has an interesting history as a producer of machinery and metals, and today offers its residents a strong sense of community, entertainment and shopping options and a convenient location in Northern New Jersey.

While there isn’t much metal production in Lyndhurst today, there are numerous small businesses that provide a variety of shopping and dining options. Mazur’s Bakery and the Lyndhurst Pastry Shop both produce Italian cakes and pastries that are acclaimed throughout the region.

The residents of Lyndhurst are invested in their community, and many participate in the borough’s numerous social and educational events and festivals. From the annual Halloween parade to the junior sports leagues to line dancing classes at the senior center, there is something for residents of all ages in Lyndhurst. Lyndhurst is located just west of the Meadowlands Sports Complex, which provides a variety of entertainment options year round.

The Lyndhurst School District serves students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The district is comprised of six elementary schools and one high school, Lyndhurst High School, that serves grade nine through twelve.
